This year’s legislative session was one of the most challenging, unique sessions in IACS history. With all the challenges this session, IACS is grateful for the successes we had advocating for our students.

Highlights From 2023 School Survey
There have been significant changes in the educational environment for our schools this year. With the passing of the “Students First Act” in January of 2023, the year was spent shifting gears as schools sought to implement Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) with fidelity and to navigate a quick turnaround on rules and changes in their business offices.
School Spotlight: Tri-State Christian School Mock Government
“In 11th/12th grade U.S. Government class, students learned about the lawmaking process in detail. Students put their learning into action by participating in a Mock Congress: as Senators and Representatives. They wrote bills related to our school, presented them, worked through committees, debated them on the floor, and voted. After working through both chambers, several bills were presented to President [Principal] Rush for her signature or veto. She signed five measures into law, which we will be implementing at our school!”
Supreme Court Cases and School Choice: Where Are We Now?
Multiple school choice programs have been challenged in court and in almost every case, well-designed and religiously neutral programs that empower parents are upheld as constitutional.
