The “Students First Act” (House File 68), was signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds Tuesday, January 24th. The bill passed the House by a vote of 55-45 and the Senate 31-18 the evening before. It was great timing as both chambers passed the bill and Governor Reynolds signed it during National School Choice Week.
The House and Senate have each introduced the Governor’s education reform package, HSB 1 and SSB 1022 respectively. We encourage you to contact your state Senator and Representative today and ask for support for this legislation as it’s written!
The House is hosting a public hearing on the “Students First Act” on Tuesday, January 17, at 5:00pm. Please sign up and join us!

Leading her list of priorities for the year was an education reform package that, after a three-year roll-out, will become a universal education savings account (ESA) program.
