The Iowa Department of Education announced yesterday that they are now accepting applications for vendors wanting to offer services to ESA-recipients through the Odyssey Marketplace. You can find their FAQ page and application on the vendor section of their Students First Act page.
The department has decided that tuition payments will be made in July and January of each school year and that the first expense from every ESA account must be a tuition payment (for part or all of the first semester’s tuition). After that, any leftover funds can be rolled over into future semesters or years, be banked to help pay for later grades that may have tuition higher than ESA amounts, or be used for eligible supplies and services including some computer hardware, therapies, tutoring, etc.
Parents and students can find out what types of products and services may begin appearing on the Odyssey marketplace by visiting their Vendor FAQ.
