The Iowa Association of Christian Schools (IACS) is pleased to announce a new offering: the Summer Series! The intent of the Summer Series is to bring high-quality professional development to teachers in faith-based schools across Iowa. This year’s topic is special education and challenging behaviors and will feature presenters Dr. Kathleen Van Tol, Professor of Education at Dordt University, and Sarah Hawley, Clinical Director of the Dordt University Thrive Center for ABA.
IACS is excited to bring the Summer Series to three locations across the state. Invite your teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, school leaders, and more to join us to learn helpful research, strategies, and interventions when working with students who have challenging behaviors.
Registration is open $115 per participant. Registration includes all learning materials, swag, breakfast, and lunch. One licensure renewal credit will be available for $75 for those interested. To earn licensure renewal credit, participants must attend the entire event, write a brief response to what they learned at the event, and write a short action plan for steps they want to implement (very practical!).
The same workshop will be presented in three different locations from 8:00-4:00 PM. To register for a specific location, please click the links below.
