The agency that would become American Church Group of Iowa & Platte River started in 1997, serving just 30 churches. By the end of 2002, under the leadership of Terry Townsend, the agency was providing insurance coverage for more than 400 ministries in Iowa.
Ed Hansen joined the agency in 2008 as a full-time agent. Today, he and Terry are co-owners of the agency. They, along with the rest of the American Church Group of Iowa & Platte River team, provide more than 1,500 churches and ministries with risk management, loss prevention, and insurance services, customized for the needs of today’s churches and ministries.
We seek to identify areas of growth and gaps in the Christian education space in order to catalyze effective and scalable programs across the nation. Our mission is lived out by providing programs such as online content, up-to-date news, training and events, grants, and hands-on organizational improvement initiatives.
The Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE) is a vision of the Sid & Carol Verdoorn Foundation, Dordt University, and Christian school thought leaders from around the world.
