Eric Goranson
Eric is a native of Lake Mills, Iowa. After living in Austin, Texas and Southern California, he returned to Iowa where he graduated from Des Moines Christian School and earned his Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees at William Penn University.
Eric is the Principal at Goranson Consulting in Des Moines, specializing in Government Relations and Nonprofit Consulting. Eric has almost twenty five years’ experience in State government and nonprofit organizations including his roles as Development Director at a Des Moines area private school and Des Moines radio station KZZQ 99.5 (now Pulse 101.7). Eric worked in former Governor Terry Branstad’s office during his fourth term. In addition to his current duties as IACS’ Lobbyist, Eric serves multiple clients as lobbyist and/or consultant.
Eric has been involved in numerous nonprofit and civic organizations and currently serves as President at Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education and as Chair of Iowa’s Educational Opportunities PAC. Eric is a former member of the Iowa State Board of Education.
Eric resides in Des Moines with his wife, Rachel; his 18-year-old son, Kyle (currently attending Iowa State University); and 16-year-old daughter, Keira. Both his children have attended (or are attending) a private, Christ-centered school. They also attend and are very involved with the Fox Creek Community in Waukee, Iowa.
